Marlyn Campa scored twice in a 2-0 against local side Texas Titans to ensure back to back Conference Championships for your TTi Bluebonnets!
The Titans having nothing to play for, finishing in the bottom third of the conference, other than pride and put on a good performance at times during the match which was dictated by the possession of the Bluebonnets.
Both Bluebonnets goals came in the second half and from the same player. The first a beautiful attacking move starting from the TTi back line with the eventual goal coming after a 9 pass movement seeing each line. Campa comfortably saw off the chance putting the Bluebonnets tp of the pack.
Junique Rodriguez had another bright start controlling the majority of the match from Left Back, threatening to expose the opposition whenever she had the ball at feet.
The second goal coming from at the back line, including make shift center back, Captain Jordan Jackson braking up play to give Campa the ball in her own half. Individual brilliance saw the potential Mexican International finish from distance to put the match up out of reach for the home side.
Carly English, Amy Ngyuen and young Canadian Emma Shields had star out performances being both diligent and exquisite in their movements throughout the evening.
Institute products Alyssa Garcia, Sara Price and Kiran Singh all made appearances in the second half with all seeing chances on goal.
"This is what being a part of TTi is for our young women, the chance to train and be a part of something different. The fact that they combine to the most important match of the season and contribute is testament to them as young players" TTi Sporting Director Lee Cullip mused.
"We are happy to be back to back Champions" Jackson said after the match :"we have worked hard to get here again and stuck to playing good football, so we are looking forward to San Antonio away and then the conference championships" the Bluebonnet Captain concluded.
The Bluebonnet play their last regular season match away to San Antonio Saturday 7th at Blossom Field.
