Bluebonnets End Season Champions to Play NWSL Side Chicago Red Stars in Regionals

A rainy night in San Antonio saw the Bluebonnets complete their conference season with 7 wins and one loss to top the WPSL South Texas Conference table.

"We are happy to round out with such a convincing performance, especially with 5 teenage players on the pitch" said Lee Cullip, TTi Sporting Director "the style of play is what I have been most pleased along with the interchanging of much younger players. The team certainly deserve the opportunity to play Chicago in Regionals" Cullip concluded.

The goals came from Siobhan Higgins, San Antonio native Marlyn Campa and the winner from youngster Kiran Singh, seeing only her second call up to the senior side. TTi took the lead twice to be pinned back by a direct and positive Blossoms side eager to show their worth in the league. during their first season.

Play was free flowing in the attack with Alyssa Garcia seeing valuable experience minutes as well as seasoned and professional performances from Amy Yang, Anna Smalley and Jamaican International Toriana Patterson.

The winner came from Institute player Singh whom got the slightest of touch from a deft through ball from Mexico U23 International Brianna Woodall, who herself had an outstanding evening.

The Bluebonnets will host the Regional Championships this coming weekend at SJCC in Houston Texas. The Bluebonnets will host the Tournament and face the Chicago Red Stars in the Sweet 16.
